teamkenya.org.uk : Our mission is to involve entire communities in gender equality, so that girls in rural Kenya can create their own bright futures.
The beginning of a new project for myself with TeamKenya , a small UK charity, who are working hard to make a difference to the women of Kenya.
Team Kenya work in rural Kenyan communities to keep girls safe and in school and to promote gender equality. In the communities they support; 62% of girls had experienced sexual or violence threats in school - a terrible statistic but with the help of Team Kenya, a statistic that can be changed and together we can improve the lives of so many young girls and women.
One of the main projects under Team Kenya is Brighter Futures. A project I am very passionate about, they use football to teach girls and boys about gender equality and aims to reduce gender based violence in and around the girls’ schools.
