Many football players consider gym to be a necessary evil. I actually like it. When you see the results, excercise can become a drug. It started during my time in Chelsea Football Club. Some games I wasn´t even on the bench, so I looked for what more can be done to get to the team. Technique and tactics are learned in time, but physical strength won´t happen by itself. Although I think I might have overdone it a few times. At Fulham, I was confused with a rugby player now and then, but I think it got back to normal and is currently balanced. Of course it´s not only about what I look like - the important thing is the impact it has on my performance. Sometimes I feel stronger about a challenge or a tackle I need to make, as well as more confident in situations where me and the attacking player hold each other. The success rate of these situations improved by a few percent too. The focus on physicality is much bigger in England with a lot of strong players compared to the Czech league
